WONDERLAND-TAIKOOLI 6TH ANNIVERSARY PROJECT|
心奇陆地-成都远洋太古里6周年活动设计项目

This is a graphic design project for the biding of the 6th-anniversary event of Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu, one of the most honoured and fashionable malls and landmarks in Chengdu. In terms of the event, it aims to represent the brand's values, stories, and achievements through the notion of 5 senses, vision, hearing, tactus, olfactory, and gustation. Based on the concept of Infinite Wonderland, I designed the key visual and derived promotional products of the event, including posters, signage, banner, invitation, and promo gift. By combining Chengdu cultural heritages and assets, I meant to show the diversity and inclusiveness of the mall with a rich, dynamic, and contemporary visual language. It was like saying, "All of a sudden, despite the future or the past, various items collide in this space, a space of infinite wonderland". 

Specifically with the KV design, I used an outlined vector illustration to compare the space at Taikoo Li to a fantastical and futuristic Chengdu space that is infinitely inclusive, diverse, and fancy. I depicted a 2.5-dimensional box as the focal point with geometric typography and a Mobius band in a radial composition to create a spatial and dynamic visual context. The abstract representations of Chengdu-related visual elements are illustrated as exploding from the centre, from this wonderland, from Taikoo Li. Altogether, they formed a bizarre wonderland. With the abstract symbolization, I meant to let the audience break away from their conventional impression of the cultures they were familiar with and invite them into

The transition of colour palette from solid to gradient was meant to strengthen the depth and tension. By adding light and shadow through colours, I aimed to create a strong contrast with the flat visual abstraction and also challenge the audience's visual convention.

我负责了成都远洋太古里6周年竞标项目的平面设计部分,从数字 “6” 出发,以 “心奇陆地” 为主题,展现延伸成都新时代风貌。从多角度、多感官以太古里为载体体现成都当下以及未来的独特魅力。太古里作为成都最为代表性的时尚地标之一,展现了包容、前沿的价值观,不断探索作为商业地产以及艺术性生活空间的可能性。因此,在主视觉的设计上,使用了矢量插画做为主体形式,用扁平的视觉语言展现潮流感官体验,挑战周年庆及传统文化的展现方式,构建了一片奇异、新颖的心奇陆地。背景上,以2.5D的几何立方体作为视觉中心,将它拆分并与莫比乌斯环相互交错堆叠,创造视错觉,再用几何扩散式构图突出视觉空间感,展现对太古里科幻展望式的畅想。前景,将成都传统文化元素融合太古里建筑特色进行几何抽象式地描绘,并放射性地从中心立方体向边界迸发,从趣味性的角度展现了一个包容、多样、不设限的成都新空间,以勾线作为传统手绘作图特色搭配数字时代的渐变效果,将传统与新潮结合,在六周年之际,展现了一个具有颠覆创造力、引领时下生活方式、汇聚城市文化力量的成都远洋太古里。
